This ending shocked me back when I was a kid and even today, I still think about it sometimes and I wonder... What if our "real life" ends up being something similar to this? After all, nobody knows for sure what exactly happens when we leave this plane of existence. Just think about it for a second: what if all the places that you have been, all the people you have met, your friends, pets, and even your own family, were just part of a very long dream.

I have beaten the game with just Mario, but trying to beat the game using one of the other characters only is just too hard for me. I came close but just fall short, losing at either World 6 or 7.

The visual of Mario sleeping, aside from just looking good in general, is also very impressive for its time. A lot of SNES games didn't try to have visuals like that, let a lone NES games. But this game, that is by all means essential a ROM hack, adds these beautiful new visuals that never existed in the original game. Pretty crazy, I think!

I love how this ending sounds like it was inspired by Sonic's. A short tune first and then a mix of all the levels of the game in one track, the only difference is that the final tune is a long and brand new composition. While in Sonic games they just reused the title screen theme and extended them a little bit.

I remember how much I loved SMB2 the ending as well as the intro. SMB 1 didn't have a proper intro or even an ending which is why SMB2 was such a pleasure!

One of the games that began my former gaming days. My legacy and journey in the console/portable gaming world has come to a close. Don't want to go out this way, but life hits hard at times with its choices. I was a dedicated & determined gamer, and player ever since the 80's, and became a collector back in the 90's. I stood strong with it, until some family struggles began to occur, which has since brought me to a literal selling point. It's either money or happiness at this point. My 20+ console, near 700+ gaming collection is no longer in my hands. Never to be made up for, and my family doesn't care how severely sad it makes this man, or the worth, rarity, and sentimental value. Thank you so much gaming companies, Nintendo, and Pokemon. Good game Nintendo, my favorite company. Began in 1996 - officially ending in 2024
